Pride lounge at NBO was decent rather than anything special. (actually emailed airline to tell them how good the crew were as we like to give credit where it is warranted). Wonderful flight crew, very pleasant and attentive, food and drink plentiful, no issues. Waiting another 4 was terribly painful! Needless to say, I will not be flying with them again.įlew (economy) with them JFK-NBO-SEZ in early 2020 pre-pandemic (or just as it hit to be more accurate). At that point we were already in Nairobi airport already for 5 hours waiting for our flight. Of course, it was delayed but only by 4 hours. My children and I proceeded on to our next destinations and flew back to Nairobi 16 days later to get our flight back to JFK. To get an emergency flight home was over $5,000. I didn't buy the bare bones economy seats so I thought that was rather expensive. To change just his ticket, he had to pay $1600.
The biggest disappointment, and idk if this is normal protocol but my husband got very sick in Kenya and needed to return early. The food was decent enough and my family found the movies offered were enough to keep them entertained. The flight itself wasn't bad but it didn't have Wi-Fi which I knew beforehand so we were prepared.even my 2 teens did okay. That really sucked and wasn't compensated in anyway by the airline. However, I therefore missed an entire day of my trip. My outgoing flight out was delayed 10 hours but I was notified the day before, so I readjusted my transportation to the airport. Thought I'd follow up since I went on my trip last July. They're quick checkpoints but I found this out the hard way when I tried to wander to another terminal (?) to check out the shops and realized I had go through security again to get back. Oh, one more thing about that airport, there are a lot of security checkpoints. Nothing spectacular or anything, but fine. But I think I fell asleep pretty quickly so I remember it being fairly smooth despite that. I will say the only annoying thing was that there seemed to be no way to pick your seat even if I wanted, so I got middle seated (in the middle of a youth group on a night flight that wanted to sing, no less). I think I've flown KA once from Kenya to France. I just learn to roll with it, having a tablet is so clutch to be able to just watch your own movies and read. Sometimes it's amusing to me how a Qantas flight in 2005 had better technology then some international flights I get on now. Great time to get some reading done, lol. I flew Air China 13 or so hours in 2014 with no Wi-Fi or on-board entertainment.
